Sofia is a documentary photographer studying at the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie in Berlin and member of the Fotografie Berlin e.V. Collective . She works as a freelance journalist for the Armenian publication EVN Report and as an assistant to digital publisher Janine Sack at EECLECTIC publishing house.

Between 2020 and 2022 she was an editor for IMAGO press agency's newsroom and journalist / managing editor for its magazine, The Game. She covered topics such as the war in Ukraine, women from Afghanistan and social movements in correspondence with photojournalists worldwide. 

Sofia interned as a journalist at EVN Report magazine in Yerevan, Armenia (2019) where she lived for 6 months. Her work on Armenia often revolves around arts and culture, investigative journalism and gender issue. In 2018, she spent six months working as an art journalist in Berlin with Berlin Art Link magazine and spent the month of May reporting out of Havana, Cuba with Northeastern's School of Journalism, creating a digital publication which was nominated for a New England Regional Emmy Award. She completed her Bachelor's degree in journalism at Northeastern University in Boston with a minor in photography in 2020.
